Jonathan’s early life was profoundly shaped by his mother, Arthurine, who battled the rare muscle disease polymyositis. Her strength and determination in the face of adversity instilled in him the belief that one's circumstances should never dictate their outcomes. Jonathan's foundation channels that spirit, aiming to foster resilience and potential in young individuals.
Jonathan was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. He wears his hometown with great honor and pride, always doing what he can do give back and lift-up the St. Louis community.
His mother, Arthurine, impressed upon Jonathan a great desire to excel in academics. While he has always been athletically gifted, a life-long career in sports is never guaranteed... so when JO was younger he put a very high level of importance on his school work and his studies. He made his way through a private-school education at Loyola Academy and CBC High School in St. Louis, setting him up for even more academic success at Missouri Western.
In college, he was a frequent member of things like the Dean's List and Academic Honor Roll. Because of his commitment to the classroom, JO was able to receive scholarships and maintain a free-ride through college.
Outside of his time wearing cleats and a helmet JO enjoys traveling with his wife, Simone. During the offseason the two travel frequently to coastal destinations like Belize, Cabo, and more.
When he's not traveling, he's at home with their 3 dogs Rambo, Zeus, and Lilo. You can find him playing Madden, NBA 2K24, or relaxing in the sauna. Jonathan also practices Pilates on a regular basis to keep his body strong and flexible.
After posting eye-popping Pro Day numbers in 2018, the Arizona Cardinals gave Jonathan a call. As an Undrafted Free Agent (UDFA), he joined the Cardinals roster for Rookie Mini Camp. Quickly into his tenue with the Cardinals, JO suffered a torn ACL. Fortunately, he recovered well and was able to maintain a roster spot heading into the 2019 season.

He started all 17 games during the 2022 season.
For the 2023 season, JO held an active roster spot for the Green Bay Packers. A few games into the season, Jonathan got another chance to start, and never relinquished it. On Thanksgiving day, against the Detroit Lions, Jonathan picked up a fumble and toted the ball to the endzone for his first NFL touchdown.
This offseason, Jonathan signed a 2-year contract with the Chicago Bears. Wearing #36 again, he will be lining up at Safety for a completely revitalized and promising Bears team.
